Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Sowpath app (“the app”), published by <PUBLISHER_LEGAL_NAME> (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Eligibility
You must be able to form a legally binding agreement to use the app. The app is not intended for children under 13.
The service
Sowpath helps you plan a garden. From the ZIP code or zone you enter, it shows your USDA hardiness zone and typical frost dates, suggests plants with sowing and planting dates, and builds a shopping list with estimated quantities and prices. Items are general categories (for example, “organic garden soil mix” or “tomato cages”), not specific products, brands or endorsements. The app is free; there are no subscriptions and no in-app purchases.
Estimates, not guarantees
Plans, dates, quantities and prices are produced by an automated AI system and by general formulas, and may be inaccurate or unsuitable for your situation. Frost dates are typical for your zone, not a forecast — weather varies from year to year, so check your local extension office. Nothing in the app is professional horticultural, medical or safety advice. Check product labels and use your own judgement before buying or planting anything.
Affiliate links
The app contains Amazon affiliate links. Tapping an item opens an Amazon search page in Safari that includes our affiliate tag. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. We do not control and are not responsible for products, prices, availability, content or transactions on Amazon; those are governed by Amazon's own terms and policies.
Third-party services and data
The app relies on third-party services, including Amazon (product search), Google (the Gemini API for plan suggestions, and Firebase for anonymous authentication, analytics and crash reporting). The built-in zone and frost data are derived from public sources: the 2023 USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map (USDA-ARS & PRISM Climate Group, Oregon State University), NOAA NCEI U.S. Climate Normals 1991–2020 and U.S. Census Bureau TIGERweb (2020 ZCTA). These organizations do not endorse the app.
Fair use and limits
Each device can create a limited number of plans per day. You agree not to misuse the app, including by interfering with the service or our backend, attempting to bypass limits or security measures, sending automated requests, reverse-engineering the app except where permitted by law, or using the app for any unlawful purpose.
Intellectual property
The app, its design, brand and content (excluding third-party content and public data) are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose.
No warranty
The app and its suggestions are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or availability. We do not promise any particular gardening result.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app, including crop losses and purchases you make on Amazon or other third-party services.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows the latest version, and continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept them.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the publisher's place of business (<PUBLISHER_ADDRESS>), without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
